How to Use CREAO AI: A Beginner's Guide for 2026
Start with one small task in CREAO's chat. Give it clear instructions, check the answer, then save the working task as an agent if you need to repeat it. Leave connected accounts and automatic schedules until you understand the output and credit use.

The short version
- First task: turn a few fictional project notes into a short status update.
- First check: did it keep the facts, owners and missing information straight?
- First upgrade decision: pay only when a feature or measured usage justifies it. Scheduled runs currently start on Pro Plus.
What is CREAO AI?
CREAO is an AI agent platform. Its browser app can work through tasks in a conversation and turn successful sessions into reusable agents. Think of an agent here as a saved way of doing a job with new inputs, rather than a person or a guarantee of correct work.
This guide covers the browser app, not CREAO's developer tools. For the buying decision, read our CREAO AI review. For a broader comparison, see CREAO vs ChatGPT.
1. Start on Free and pick one task
Use the CREAO sign-up link to open the app and create or sign into your account. Affiliate link · Mike Says may earn commission from a qualifying paid subscription at no extra cost to you. The current Free tier needs no credit card and lists 30 one-time credits plus five daily bonus credits.
Do not begin with “automate my business”. Choose something whose answer you can check yourself. A short update from fictional notes is a good practice task because it needs no inbox access, payment details or private client records.
Good first outcome: a clear, accurate draft you would be happy to edit. Not the first goal: an agent sending messages without you reading them.
2. Open a chat and give it a clear brief
Select a workspace, then open New chat. Type your request in the input box and use Send or press Enter. CREAO's chat documentation also describes file attachments and a Stop control.
For now, paste the sample below. It gives the task, source material, format and boundaries in one place.
A practice prompt you can copy
Turn these fictional project notes into a weekly status update. Audience: a small business owner. Use UK English. Keep the update under 180 words. Use only the notes below. Do not browse the web or connect to any accounts. Do not send, publish or schedule anything. Use four headings: Completed Next actions Blockers Questions to confirm Keep each named owner. If a deadline is missing, write "Not provided". Do not invent dates, progress or decisions. Notes: - Alex finished the homepage draft. - Jo needs to review the draft. No deadline was agreed. - Product photos are still missing. No owner was assigned. - The contact form test failed. - Sam will repeat the form test after the email settings are checked. - The launch date has not been confirmed.
The business names, people and notes in this exercise are fictional. Replace them only with information you are allowed to use.
A useful prompt formula is task + source + audience + format + limits. “Write an update” leaves too many decisions open. The example tells the assistant what to produce and what not to guess.
3. Check the output before improving it
Read the result against the original notes, not just for fluent writing. A tidy answer can still contain wrong details.
| Check | What the sample should preserve |
|---|---|
| Completed work | Only the homepage draft is stated as finished. |
| Owners | Alex drafted it, Jo reviews it and Sam repeats the form test. |
| Unknowns | The review deadline, photo owner and launch date remain unconfirmed. |
| Dependency | Sam's repeat test comes after the email settings check. |
| Boundaries | It produces a draft, not a sent message or a schedule. |
If it invents a Friday launch, correct that specific mistake:
The notes do not give a launch date. Remove the invented date and put the launch date under Questions to confirm. Keep everything else unchanged.
Change one thing at a time. That makes it easier to tell which instruction improved the draft. For real work, also verify figures, links and quotations against their source.
4. Save a useful session as an agent
CREAO's agent documentation describes this process:
- After a completed session, select Create Agent in the chat input bar.
- Choose an output format. Markdown suits this short written update; Dashboard and Html are other documented options.
- Add any extra instructions and select Start building.
- Find the saved agent under Agents. Review its inputs and use Run with a different set of notes.
Plan caveat: CREAO lists agents on Free but “Custom agents” under Pro. Its general how-to documentation does not settle every Free entitlement. If your account asks for an upgrade, do not assume this step is included. You can still keep the prompt for manual use.
Our suggested name is “Project update draft”. Give it fresh notes with a changed owner and a missing date. Check that it uses those new facts instead of repeating the old sample. A saved agent is only useful if it handles the next input correctly.
5. Add files or connections only when needed
CREAO can accept attachments in chat. Workspaces can also hold files for use across conversations. Start with a small, non-sensitive document and tell the agent exactly which material to use. See the official workspace guide for file organisation.
A connector gives access to another service; it is not just a shortcut. Read the permissions before connecting an account. Do not connect your inbox merely to practise writing a status update.
For supported connected actions, CREAO documents Ask first and Auto autonomy modes. Check this setting explicitly. Use Ask first while learning and inspect each proposed action. Do not treat a sentence in your prompt as a substitute for access controls.
Keep passwords and API keys out of ordinary prompts. Also check a workspace's members and sharing settings before adding real business material.
6. Consider scheduling after a reliable manual test
Scheduled runs currently require Pro Plus or higher. The detailed pricing page and scheduling documentation agree on this, even though shorter marketing copy may differ.
On an eligible plan, open the agent's Schedule tab and choose + Create Schedule. Set the frequency, time, timezone and delivery option. Review the next run time after saving.
Use Europe/London for a UK schedule. Keep the first recurring task draft-only. Check its Sessions history, not just an email notification.
The sample in this guide uses pasted notes. Scheduling it does not magically provide new notes each week. You need a defined, permitted source of fresh information before a recurring run makes sense.
Runs consume credits. CREAO says two consecutive skips caused by insufficient credits automatically pause a schedule. A saved schedule is not proof that work completed.
Which plan should a beginner use?
| Plan | Monthly price | Relevant starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Try a small chat task; 30 one-time credits plus five daily bonus credits. |
| Pro | $20 | 200 monthly credits; custom agents, combined personal connectors and model selection are listed. |
| Pro Plus | $50 | 600 monthly credits and scheduled runs. |
These are advertised US-dollar monthly prices checked on 5 October 2026. Check the checkout for your final total. Higher tiers and annual options are covered in our CREAO pricing guide.
Record the credits used for several useful runs before choosing a plan. For example, if your own tests used three credits per run, 20 runs would need about 60 credits before retries. That is an illustration, not a CREAO usage quote.
Common beginner problems
- The answer is too broad: reduce the job to one output and give a word limit.
- It makes up missing details: tell it to flag unknowns, then compare each claim with your source.
- The saved agent repeats old facts: check which details became fixed instructions and which are fresh inputs.
- A feature asks for payment: check the current plan terms before upgrading.
- A schedule is saved but nothing happens: check plan eligibility, credits, schedule state and run history.
Is this the right starting point for you?
Try this approach if you regularly turn notes or documents into a draft that needs judgement. Skip the agent setup if the task is a one-off. If you simply need to move the same fields from one app to another, a fixed automation may be easier to inspect.
The useful habit is the same in every case: define a small result, check it, then decide what is worth repeating.
